Dashboard Instructions
Explore
This section can be used to view various risk metrics, including previous incident occurrences and national risk indices. Use the arrows in the layer list to expand the categories and turn on the data relevant to your analysis. Use the magnifying glass "search" tool in the upper right-hand layer of the map to search for a risk reduction area (i.e., town, county, city, parcel, census tract). Once you have selected your search area, you can view custom layers aligned with NFPA 1300, Standard on Community Risk Assessment and Community Risk Reduction Plan Development. NERIS Incident Data has a 60-day lag to account for incident data accuracy. Districts and stations allow you to search by VDFP's seven districts and across fire departments and station boundaries. Virginia Boundary Layers include upper and lower state legislative districts.
